Георгий Флоровский много путешествовал по Европе, его приглашали в университеты, он читал лекции, участвовал в съездах. Несмотря на большую занятость, он находил время для работы в университетских библиотеках. И там тоже искал возможные следы творчества Карсавина. Отсюда вывод, что как личность Карсавина, так и его творчество не были ему безразличны. В письме от 8 марта 1963 г. он писал Антонию: «В Гельсинки нашел небольшую книжечку Карсавина, о существовании которой не знал -- не встречал и указаний на нее: “Поэма о смерти”, печатана в Ковне, без года -- очевидно после его отъезда из Парижа. Очень характерна для его мировоззрения и, как всегда, написана очень неприятно, -- неестественно как-то и манерно» Флоровский Г. В. Письмо А. В. Как следует из подобных высказываний, он не избавился от отрицательного мнения о Карсавине. Причем это была не научная полемика с доводами и аргументами, а только личное, субъективное мнение.
